Description
This compilation, Appalachian Gospel Revival, gathers performances from the world of bluegrass gospel into a single disc. The focus is on songs of faith, delivered with the close harmony singing that has long been a hallmark of country church music. The material reflects the long bond between mountain music and the church, with an emphasis on message and harmony.
The title’s mountain setting reflects the Appalachian roots of the songs and tunes. This item is a CD. The music speaks for itself, with little need for studio tricks or heavy production. Acoustic music like this rewards repeated listening, with new details emerging each time. It works equally well for focused listening and as background music at home.
It makes a thoughtful gift for family members who grew up singing these kinds of songs. The arrangements leave room for each voice and instrument to be heard clearly. Details on payment options and shipping are available on the How to Order page of this store.
