Description
Legends & Tall Tales brings together the voices and instruments of Hylo Brown in a set rooted in old-time string music. These are the kinds of songs that connected rural audiences to their music long before the modern country era. The repertoire leans toward the traditional, with roots in old-time string band music and early country singing.
It belongs to the Heritage Collection Series, which keeps vintage Rural Rhythm recordings available to today’s listeners. Anyone discovering Hylo Brown for the first time will get a clear sense of their sound from this album. This is a compact disc release. Rural Rhythm Records has long specialized in bluegrass, gospel and traditional country music, and this title fits naturally within that catalog.
Younger listeners curious about the roots of country music will find it a useful introduction. Browse the rest of the store for more titles in the same style.
