Description
On Volume 20, J.E. Mainer and The Mountaineers offer listeners a straightforward helping of old-time country. The repertoire leans toward the traditional, with roots in old-time string band music and early country singing. It recalls the days when country music was heard on radio barn dances and in small-town halls.
The Heritage Collection Series focuses on the classic recordings that shaped the label’s catalog. This is volume 20 in its series, so collectors may want to look for the companion titles as well. The performances by J.E. Mainer and The Mountaineers keep the emphasis on the song rather than on studio polish. It ships as a physical CD. It works equally well for focused listening and as background music at home.
Longtime fans of traditional country music will enjoy revisiting this style. For information about ordering, payment and shipping, please see our How to Order page.
