Description
This listing is for Mac Martin & The Dixie Travelers – Going Down The Country, a recording from Mac Martin & The Dixie Travelers that sits comfortably within the traditional country music side of our catalog. It recalls the days when country music was heard on radio barn dances and in small-town halls. The sound draws on the older country tradition, where simple arrangements and plain-spoken singing carry the songs.
It belongs to the Heritage Collection Series, which keeps vintage Rural Rhythm recordings available to today’s listeners. The performances by Mac Martin & The Dixie Travelers keep the emphasis on the song rather than on studio polish. The Southern place names in the title hint at the regional roots of the music. It ships as a physical CD.
Longtime fans of traditional country music will enjoy revisiting this style. For information about ordering, payment and shipping, please see our How to Order page.
