Description
With The Travelin’ Blues brings together the voices and instruments of Mac Martin & The Dixie Travelers in a set rooted in instrumental bluegrass. Fast and driving numbers sit alongside gentler tunes, giving a good picture of what acoustic string instruments can do. The spotlight here is on the instruments themselves, with breakdowns, reels and tunes that let the pickers stretch out.
The Heritage Collection Series focuses on the classic recordings that shaped the label’s catalog. The performances by Mac Martin & The Dixie Travelers keep the emphasis on the song rather than on studio polish. The Southern place names in the title hint at the regional roots of the music. The item is offered as a CD.
It is a good pick for players looking for tunes to learn and for listeners who simply enjoy fine picking. Details on payment options and shipping are available on the How to Order page of this store.
