Description
Fans of acoustic picking will want to take a look at King Of The Smokey Mountain Banjo Players, credited to Raymond Fairchild & The Maggie Valley Boys. Fast and driving numbers sit alongside gentler tunes, giving a good picture of what acoustic string instruments can do. Without vocals in the way, the listener can follow every banjo roll, fiddle line and guitar run.
As a Heritage Collection Series title, it is aimed at listeners who value the original vintage sound. As the title suggests, the five-string banjo is front and center. The performances by Raymond Fairchild & The Maggie Valley Boys keep the emphasis on the song rather than on studio polish. Mountain imagery runs through the title, and the music matches that rural, hill-country feel. The Smoky Mountain theme of the title points straight to the music’s Southern Appalachian roots. The item is offered as a CD.
Background music for a workday or a soundtrack for a jam session, it works either way. Check our Shipping & Ordering page for current delivery information.
