Description
Here is their self-titled album from Red Smiley & The Bluegrass Cut-Ups, a title that belongs on the shelf of anyone who collects traditional country music. The repertoire leans toward the traditional, with roots in old-time string band music and early country singing. It recalls the days when country music was heard on radio barn dances and in small-town halls.
It belongs to the Heritage Collection Series, which keeps vintage Rural Rhythm recordings available to today’s listeners. The performances by Red Smiley & The Bluegrass Cut-Ups keep the emphasis on the song rather than on studio polish. It ships as a physical CD. The music speaks for itself, with little need for studio tricks or heavy production. Acoustic music like this rewards repeated listening, with new details emerging each time.
It suits relaxed listening and makes a welcome gift for fans of classic country. Questions about this title can be sent through our Contact Us page.
