Raymond Fairchild – Smoky Mountain Christmas [Original Recording Remastered]

Description

Raymond Fairchild – Smoky Mountain Christmas [Original Recording Remastered] is a holiday album that sets seasonal favorites in a acoustic picking style. Instrumentals have been a core part of the bluegrass repertoire from the beginning, and this title celebrates that side of the music. The spotlight here is on the instruments themselves, with breakdowns, reels and tunes that let the pickers stretch out.

For listeners already familiar with Raymond Fairchild, this title is a natural next step. It is a natural choice for decorating the tree or a quiet December evening. The Smoky Mountain theme of the title points straight to the music’s Southern Appalachian roots. It is supplied as a compact disc. The music speaks for itself, with little need for studio tricks or heavy production.

It is the kind of disc that tends to inspire listeners to pick up an instrument themselves. Check our Shipping & Ordering page for current delivery information.
