Description
Built as an easy-listening overview of mountain bluegrass, Sound Traditions: Classic Mountain Bluegrass – 25 Appalachian Favorites draws on several performers rather than a single act. The music draws on the mountain traditions of the Southern Appalachians, where so much bluegrass has its roots. It reflects the high, lonesome singing and driving rhythm that define bluegrass at its best.
Like other titles in the Sound Traditions series, it focuses on time-tested material. The title promises twenty-five selections, which makes it a generous single purchase. Mountain imagery runs through the title, and the music matches that rural, hill-country feel. The word “favorites” in the title says it all: these are songs audiences have returned to again and again. It is supplied as a compact disc.
It makes a good gift for anyone who enjoys acoustic music with a traditional flavor. Check our Shipping & Ordering page for current delivery information.
